This successful scheme for Inland Homes is an office conversion into 15 apartments in Gerrard’s Cross. Easily commutable to Central London, the apartments are well located for anyone working in the city. A mix of 1 bed, 2 bed and studio apartments offer an ideal base for professionals and families wanting to live away from London, yet maintain a good connection to the city.
The challenge in converting existing office buildings, is the rationalising of the layouts to capitalise on the existing window locations. In this project, sliding obscured glass partitions have been used in some studio apartments to allow natural light to reach the bedroom spaces, yet still maintain privacy. Compact high-quality kitchen designs allow the living space to take precedence within the flats and built-in storage to the corridor space offers generous storage to each unit. Externally, the windows have been upgraded to improve the performance within the apartments and their external appearance.
