Town House Extension, Winchester
This complete refurbishment took place over eight months, and now provides the client with a new open-plan living space as the centre of the home. The double height kitchen extension, with its glazed gable end, allows light to enter the full depth of the space whilst allowing views into the garden beyond. A frameless glazed corner opening on the opposite elevation also provides access onto the decking that surrounds the rear elevation.
Exposed timber trusses combined with steel ties sit above the exposed brickwork walls to create a contemporary finish, complementing the materials of the bespoke kitchen. Throughout the house existing rooms have been reworked to improve the flow of the house, and contemporary and traditional finishes have been mixed, resulting in a series of comfortable spaces suitable for modern living.
