The Hess Collection Gallery, London
The Gallery exists within the £18m Vinopolis wine odyssey at Bankside London. The exhibition space is reached through the dramatic Victorian wine vaults that have been converted into the first London Museum of Wine. The Gallery houses a private contemporary art collection owned by Donald Hess and was specifically designed to hang large modern works. With a ceiling height of 7.5m and a flexible lighting system the gallery can easily accommodate the frequent changes in exhibition style and content. The space has an industrial feel to compliment the Victorian surroundings. In addition to the main gallery, there is a multimedia space and side gallery.
