3 Residential Units in a Rural Location, Hampshire
The existing site is located in a semi-rural area of Fareham. The immediate area is characterised by a series of one and two storey dwellings consisting of mixtures of brick, render and timber cladding. It is proposed to demolish the existing dwelling and outbuildings, and to redevelop the site for 1 replacement and 2 new homes. There will be 2 number 3 beds and 1 number 4 bed homes. The existing vehicular access would be reutilised to avoid the insertion of a new access to Segensworth Road. The proposed site has turning and parking to the rear to allow entry and exit in a forward gear. For the design a modern appearance has been achieved in this small development by the use of a traditional brickwork to the ground floor with a high-quality metal standing seam cladding to the first floor.
The same material is also used for the roofs, again this offers both aesthetic and robustness advantages, particularly as increased access might be required to the roofs given the proximity of the large oak tree.
