New Pavilion for Hampshire Village Sports Ground

The proposal seeks to provide a sports pavilion fit of purpose to serve the local community. Its design has been developed in consultation with the Pavilion working party formed from members of the Parish Council. The internal planning complies with the requirements of English Cricket Board and Sports England. The social space has been considered to accommodate flexible use so that the pavilion can serve the community all year round.

The building’s appearance has been designed to reflect the rural vernacular. The simple form uses a restricted palette of materials that include corrugated iron sheeting, timber and glazed screens and locally sourced flint. The security of the building when not in use has been considered in the design by the provision of sliding screens that can be moved to protect areas of glazing. The proposal is for a simple pavilion that is distinctive, attractive and that responds to its rural setting.
