Chaplin Farrant were engaged by Lowestoft College to design the refurbishment of the main tower block at the College, as part of it's ongoing building improvements and maintenance programme, which also aims to dramatically improve the public face of the education College.
The main tower block was 90% glass and as part of the project, the tower has been reclad to achieve a thermally efficient building with a BREEAM rating 'very good', making sustantial energy and carbon dioxide savings to the College. The refurbishment programme has extended the life of the building and improves the existing teaching space.
The high quality design and choice of materials enhances the physical appearance of the building and makes a positive contribution to the built environment of the immediate College campus and surrounding area.
Elsewhere on the campus, internal upgrades will be completed and a new entrance to the College will also be added.
