Work has begun on site at Lowestoft College where CF were engaged by the College to produce a feasibility and concept design approach to rejuvenate some of the existing facilities, as well as achieve a BREEAM rating of 'Very Good'.
The principle objectives are to revitalise the appearance of the College, set a design precedent in the locality and improve the awareness and perception of the College via the external refurbishment of some of the College buildings. This has to be achieved whilst also improving the buildings thermal performance, reducing energy consumption and associated costs.
The main tower, as well as the ground floor of other buildings, are being re-clad to improve the thermal performace, as well as drastically improve the visual aesthetic of the building. The design also incorporates repairs to the existing structure alongside improving the appearance to provide a recogniseable and exemplary building.
Completion is expected in August 2014.
